We are seeking a seasoned home care professional who already understands the referral landscape — and has real relationships within it.

This position is designed for someone who:

  • Has direct experience in the home care, home health, or senior services industry
  • Maintains established relationships with care managers, discharge planners, physicians, and social workers
  • Understands hospital systems, rehab facilities, and senior living communities
  • Knows how referrals actually flow — and how to influence them
  • If you already have connections in the ecosystem, this role allows you to activate and grow them.

The Role

As Director of Business Development & Community Growth, you will focus on expanding Sheridan’s referral network and increasing active client volume across Greater LA. This is a relationship-driven, field-based role requiring visibility, consistency, and professional credibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Referral Growth & Strategic Partnerships
    • Strengthen and expand relationships with:
      • Care managers
      • Physicians and geriatric specialists
      • Social workers and case managers
      • Rehabilitation facilities
      • VA-related referral sources
    • Convert referral relationships into measurable client starts
  • Community Presence
    • Actively participate in the Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce
    • Attend senior industry events, networking mixers, and business development functions
    • Represent Sheridan at conferences and healthcare community events
    • Identify opportunities that increase visibility and referral pipeline
  • Performance & Reporting
    • Track referral meetings and pipeline activity
    • Maintain accurate records in WellSky and HubSpot
    • Submit structured monthly reports
    • Drive measurable growth in billable hours
  • Client Support
    • Assist with client assessments when needed
    • Ensure seamless transition from referral to active care
    • Support retention through strong communication
  • Compensation
    • $57,000 annual salary
    • 20 hours per week
    • Flexible schedule with expected in-market presence
    • Approved business expenses reimbursed
    • Performance-based incentives may be introduced.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 3+ years experience in home care, home health, or senior services business development
  • Established professional relationships in the local healthcare community
  • Strong communication and follow-up skills
  • Organized and self-directed
  • Professional, ethical, and growth-oriented
