Job Summary
The Director, Supply Chain Management, will develop and implement strategic supply chain initiatives aimed at creating a scalable, efficient, and value-added organization within the HiArc manufacturing operation and promote performance excellence and professionalism. The ideal candidate will have an insatiable desire for continuous improvement both for the organization and for their own professional development.
Responsibilities and Tasks
- Direct entire HiArc supply chain management process, driving collaboration and synergies across the HiArc medical business.
- Administer a program of effective supply chain strategy incorporating lean materials management and logistics principles to include planning, procurement, receipt, storage, kitting, point of use, inventory control, and reconciliation based on a Plan for Every Part (PFEP) methodology. Drive to optimum total cost, establish and manage terms and conditions, adhere to established quality standards, product specifications, schedules, and customer requirements and expectations.
- Be a key member of HiArc's leadership team to establish ongoing strategy development and effectively interact with internal and external executives, business unit leads, and cross-functional peers through healthy conflict and problem-solving.
- Partner with site management and program management and drive a disciplined production control process through a robust use of Sales, Inventory, & Operations Planning (SIOP) and Enterprise and Material Resource Planning tools, ERP, and MRP. Be an approver of sales orders acceptance based on the SIOP and bid review processes.
- Establish systematic methods ensuring material visibility and accuracy in the stockroom as well as on the production floor. Pursue zero-defect cycle counting and material transactions. Ensure products, parts, or supplies are shipped, distributed, and / or received in an efficient and timely manner. Maintain warehouse safety in accordance with both company and governmental standards.
- Evaluate and determine labor requirements through workforce planning to ensure the best utilization of personnel and workflow to meet proposal and production schedules. Select, train, and develop subordinates. Assign work for the most efficient utilization of personnel, reviewing their activities to ensure quality performance. Make appropriate promotional and salary recommendations or terminations.
- Through subordinate managers, direct the receiving and storing of materials and the shipping of finished goods. Ensure that materials are received from proper vendors, delivered to inventory and finished goods, and are packaged and shipped promptly.
- Through effective planning and material management, enable leveraged spend and cost savings and strong negotiating positions across the enterprise.
- Ensure accurate input and quotations for business proposals by providing a complete review of bills of material from engineering, development of criteria for suppliers, selection of the best suppliers for quotes, and negotiations for the most favorable terms and conditions.
- In collaboration with Supplier Quality, continuously evaluate suppliers and optimize the supplier base through analyses of their capabilities, quality performance, delivery performance, price competitiveness, production rates, and tooling availability.
- Ensure company procurement policies and procedures required for purchase orders and subcontract terms and conditions, re-determinations, contract terminations, and supplier relations and negotiations are followed to maintain compliance with all applicable laws and requirements, including FDA regulations.
- Maintain direct and strong relationships with affiliates, suppliers, internal and external customer representatives, and subcontractors to provide efficient, timely, and cost-effective procurement of materials. Keep abreast of innovation and industry trends in supply chain and strategic sourcing.
- Review and approve all Supply Chain financial inputs (labor & material) for proposals, EAC, AOP, and other business requirements.
- Provide final sign-off of non-MRP requisitions in accordance with corporate policies and procedures.
- Represent HiArc in negotiations with our customers in support of material procurement activities.
- Facilitate the efficient resolution of all supply chain problems and coordinate problem resolution with all interfacing departments to provide optimum production, quality, and delivery of HiArc products.
- Promote positive employee relations and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Requires a minimum of 12 years' experience in purchasing management, preferably in the medical instrument development and manufacturing market.
- Proven experience with team management, training, and development
- Outstanding leadership, negotiating, communication, and managerial skills
- BS or BA degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or equivalent related field required; MBA or master's degree preferred
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Yellow Belt certification with training or project completion preferred
- 7+ years of ERP experience required
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual thinking skills
- Knowledge of long‑term agreements and vendor relationship management
- Strong ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions
- Excellent data analysis skills with the ability to translate data into detailed and graphical presentations to leadership and key stakeholders
- High proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Ability to prioritize initiatives based on business needs and requirements
