About the Role The 3D Technical Illustrator supports all technical illustration development tasks within the Parts, Service & Technical Division, producing high-quality 3D and 2D visuals for technician training modules, repair processes, and dealership recall instructions. This role is part of a four‑person illustration team operating within a structured production workflow. Technical Illustration Production (Approx. 90%) Create detailed 3D renderings and hard‑surface models using Maya Produce high‑quality materials, lighting, texturing, and KeyShot renders Create soft‑surface textures (e.g., vehicle seats and interiors) Produce 2D illustrations and graphics using Adobe tools Execute imagery aligned with storyboard instructions Deliver assets for training modules typically consisting of 20+ images Work within standard project timelines (approx. 2 weeks per module) Special Projects (Approx. 10%) Support updates, revisions, and specialized illustration tasks Assist with occasional animation needs (nice to have) Required Qualifications 6+ years of professional technical illustration experience Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Illustration, or related field (or equivalent experience) Strong proficiency in Maya (primary 3D tool), KeyShot, Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator Experience with hard‑surface modeling and rendering Familiarity with automotive systems (preferred) Strong communication and collaboration skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Word) Portfolio demonstrating 3D models, rendering, and texturing Nice to Have Adobe InDesign Animation experience Gaming, VFX, or similar 3D industries experience Job Details 12‑month contract, hourly pay $35‑$39, depending on experience, onsite in Torrance, CA Contract position based out of Torrance, CA Application deadline: March 9, 2026 Fully onsite workplace in Torrance, CA The company is an equal opportunity employer and will consider all applications without regard to race, sex, age, color, religion, national origin, veteran status, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, or any characteristic protected by law. #J-18808-Ljbffr
