Overview

Six One Agency is seeking a Public Relations Director with beauty and wellness industry experience to lead a high-level communications strategy across key client accounts. This role is ideal for a seasoned PR professional who understands the beauty landscape and can drive impactful media relations, integrated campaigns, and strategic client counsel.

This leader will play a critical role within the agency—guiding communications strategy for beauty brands, mentoring a high-performing team, and contributing to agency growth and new business opportunities.

• Developing strategic PR programs that elevate beauty brands and deliver measurable results
• Leveraging deep beauty industry knowledge and media relationships to secure impactful coverage
• Serving as a trusted senior advisor to clients
• Leading and mentoring a team while maintaining high standards of work and collaboration
• Supporting agency growth through strategic thinking and new business initiatives

Responsibilities

• Lead communications strategy across multiple beauty-focused client accounts
• Develop and execute integrated PR campaigns within the beauty, wellness, and lifestyle space
• Drive media relations strategy and cultivate strong relationships with beauty editors and industry media
• Provide senior-level client counsel and manage complex client relationships
• Oversee team workflow, mentorship, and professional development
• Ensure excellence across client deliverables and day-to-day account management
• Support new business development and agency growth initiatives

Qualifications

• 8+ years of public relations experience, with a strong focus in the beauty industry
• Deep understanding of the beauty media landscape and trends
• Proven experience leading client strategy and managing complex accounts
• Strong leadership and team mentorship experience
• Ability to operate both strategically and operationally in a fast-paced agency environment
• Salary: DOE + performance-based bonus eligibility
