Inclusive Excellence Statement Job Summary The University of South Carolina’s Division of Marketing is seeking a User Experience Manager to help strategically shape the University’s digital image and ensure accurate information on its website as both strategic and technical advisor for sc.edu and campus units. As part of the digital strategy team, the manager will identify design needs, interactive requirements, web architecture and project scope. They maintain operational continuity, mentoring the user experience staff and acting as backup for the senior associate director. Key qualifications include excellent time management, organizational skills, proficiency in online content management systems, and the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with teams of diverse technical and communication backgrounds. Minimum Qualifications None listed. Preferred Qualifications Degree in graphic design, communications, marketing, advertising, information technology systems or related field. Web development, project coordination experience. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Demonstrated knowledge of web technologies, content management systems, languages and best practices. Familiarity with Content Management System and HTML/CSS, ability to administer content including copy, images, video embed, etc. Demonstrated knowledge of analytics tools, e.g., Google Analytics. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with information architects, copywriters, front‑end developers and broad cross‑functional teams. Solid technical background with an ability to address accessibility and compatibility issues. Strong problem‑solving skills and independent self‑direction coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects. Ability to work as a team player, demonstrate personal initiative and inspire colleagues. Ability to operate in a fast‑paced environment with changing priorities.
