
Account Executive / IV Infusions

Overview
The Account Executive is responsible for achieving net revenue, admissions, and profitability targets by driving new referral growth, expanding market share, and maintaining strong relationships with referral sources across hospitals, health systems, and post-acute care settings. This position functions as the primary business development driver within an assigned territory, with a focus on rapidly capturing acute referrals, coordinating with clinical and operational teams, and delivering exceptional customer service to referral partners.
Responsibilities Achieves or exceeds assigned sales and revenue targets by driving referrals and admissions in acute and post-acute settings
Develops, implements, and executes a detailed annual territory business plan aligned with corporate and regional goals
Identifies, qualifies, and secures new referral opportunities from hospitals, health systems, hospitalists, case managers, discharge planners, physicians, and other decision-makers
Maintains an active pipeline of opportunities using Salesforce CRM; update call notes, track referral activity, and manage territory progress with accuracy
Uses data dashboards, BI tools, and KPI reporting to evaluate referral trends, monitor conversion rates, and adjust strategies
Serves as the primary owner of referral source relationships, ensuring Amerita remains top-of-mind as the infusion provider of choice
Conducts regular in-services, lunch-and-learns, and educational sessions for case managers, physicians, and referral influencers
Partners with Clinical Liaisons to coordinate bedside visits, discharge planning meetings, and hospital leadership discussions
Collaborates with marketing to deliver targeted materials, campaigns, and communications that support referral development
Works closely with Clinical Liaisons, pharmacy, intake, and operations teams to ensure timely conversion of referrals into admissions
Participates in weekly planning meetings and quarterly go-to-market reviews with regional leadership to align on goals, performance, and market strategies
Partners with Clinical Educators to support referral source training and education initiatives
Acts as the health system owner for assigned accounts, leading strategic discussions with hospital leadership and aligning efforts across Amerita’s internal teams
Meets or exceeds defined KPIs, including referral calls, admissions, conversion rates, and timeliness of start-of-care
Submits accurate and timely activity reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates to leadership
Uses Salesforce and Microsoft BI to track, analyze, and communicate sales performance
Continuously evaluates competitive activity in the territory and provide feedback to leadership on trends, opportunities, and risks
Qualifications Minimum of three (3) years of medical sales experience (IV therapy, DME, HHA, LTAC, or related).
Proven success in acute/hospital sales, referral development, or care-transition management.
Bachelor’s Degree in business or healthcare-related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
Must meet company standards for driving record and driver age requirements.
Clinical background a plus.
Strong knowledge of hospital discharge processes, case management, and care transitions.
Demonstrated success in new business development and territory growth.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint); Salesforce CRM experience strongly preferred.
Ability to analyze market data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable strategies.
Strong presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Highly self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities.
Travel requirements 75-100%
