OPPORTUNITY
The Director, Global Key Account Management is being hired to strengthen and transform the commercial performance of the company’s strategically important global OEM relationships. The mandate is to drive a more disciplined, growth-oriented account strategy that expands global business opportunities while restoring margin performance and strengthening program profitability. This leader will reset commercial rigor across pricing, negotiations, and program governance while aligning global cross-functional teams around a unified strategy for profitable growth. The role requires a highly credible automotive commercial executive who can operate effectively with senior OEM leadership while challenging legacy practices internally to instill a stronger culture of accountability, value creation, and commercial excellence. Success will be measured by improved account profitability, expanded platform penetration, stronger executive-level customer relationships, and the establishment of a more proactive, margin-driven commercial culture across the global account organization. For a commercially driven automotive leader, this position offers the opportunity to lead a global team of seven direct reports, operate directly with senior OEM decision-makers, and deliver measurable impact in both growth and margin recovery. The successful candidate will be a
strategic commercial leader from the automotive supplier industry
with a strong track record managing complex global OEM relationships. Key qualifications include: 10+ years of progressive leadership experience within a
global automotive Tier 1 supplier environment. Significant experience leading
global OEM account strategy. Demonstrated success
negotiating complex global commercial agreements and restoring profitability on challenging programs. Prior experience effectively managing global accounts and a global sales team
across North America, Europe, and Asia. Strong executive presence with the ability to build credibility with
OEM purchasing, engineering, and senior leadership teams. Proven ability to drive
organizational change and implement stronger commercial discipline
within a global supplier environment. Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering or Business, Engineering preferred. Master’s Degree preferred. ADDED REQUIREMENTS
Must live a commutable distance from a NW suburb of Detroit or willing to relocate. Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50 percent of the time. Must be either a U.S. citizen or have permanent residency.
