
Member Relations & Outreach Specialist

Position Overview
Solano County Farm Bureau (SCFB) is seeking a motivated, organized, and relationship-driven professional to serve as Member Relations & Outreach Specialist. This position plays a central role in strengthening member engagement, communications, events, and outreach efforts that support local agricultural advocacy. As part of a small, collaborative office, this role requires versatility, initiative, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. The Specialist will support membership development, coordinate events and sponsorships, manage communications platforms, assist with board and advocacy initiatives, and help maintain smooth day-to-day office operations. Key Responsibilities
Membership & Member Engagement Support membership recruitment and retention initiatives Serve as a primary point of contact for member communication and engagement Maintain and update membership database and records Coordinate membership renewal campaigns and outreach efforts Build relationships with farmers, ranchers, agribusinesses, and community partners Assist in identifying opportunities to strengthen member engagement and value Communications & Publications Manage organizational communications including email newsletters, website updates, and print or digital publications Develop and maintain a content calendar aligned with events, policy priorities, and agricultural seasons Draft member communications, press releases, promotional materials, and outreach messaging Create content highlighting advocacy efforts, member stories, events, and agricultural education Respond to online inquiries and community engagement in a professional manner Programs & Events Plan and coordinate member meetings, annual events, educational programs, and board functions Coordinate logistics including venues, vendors, registration, and promotional materials Assist with scholarship promotion, award programs, and recognition initiatives Administrative & Office Support Assist with day-to-day office operations to ensure smooth workflow Answer phone calls, respond to general inquiries, and direct requests as needed Maintain organized files, records, and internal documents Assist with preparing correspondence, reports, and meeting materials Manage office supplies and coordinate with vendors when necessary Support mailings, membership packets, and other administrative tasks Collaborate closely with the Executive Director on organizational priorities and projects Qualifications
Required Strong organizational and time management skills Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines Professional, relationship-oriented approach to working with members and partners Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital communication platforms Valid driver’s license and ability to attend off-site meetings and events Some evening or occasional weekend work may be required for events Preferred Background or familiarity with agriculture, agribusiness, or rural communities Experience in communications, nonprofit organizations, membership associations, or event coordination Familiarity with Farm Bureau or grassroots advocacy organizations Apply by sending your cover letter, resume, and references to info@solanofarmbureau.org.
