Intern - Marketing & Social Media Job Description Summary

The Intern - Marketing & Social Media supports the Wilson Warbirds Marketing team by assisting with content creation, social media execution, and day‑to‑day marketing initiatives. This role helps develop digital content, manage projects, and contribute to online fan engagement throughout the season.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Generate engaging and visually appealing content for various social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok.

Showcase a fan‑first environment throughout Warbirds social media channels through the use of Instagram/Facebook stories during home games.

Capture and edit photos and videos during games, events and behind‑the‑scenes moments (Mic'd Up, Highlight Videos, Player Interviews, etc.).

Assist in planning and executing social media campaigns to promote games, events, special promotions and sponsored assets.

Collaborate with the marketing team to align social media efforts with overall marketing strategies.

Provide live coverage during games, including live tweeting, posting updates and interacting with fans in real time.

Follow and understand the pre‑set graphic/video styles of the organization.

Collect proof of performance assets throughout the Warbirds season in coordination with the Warbirds sponsorship department.

Able to attend non‑game day activities (mascot appearances, off‑site events, etc.).

Assist with field tarp duties as necessary.

Qualifications

Availability to work a varying schedule that includes games, events and some office hours.

Candidate must be reliable, detail oriented, able to problem‑solve, multi‑task efficiently, have solid communication and writing skills, and a teamwork mentality.

Open and friendly personality and willingness to get in front of a crowd.

Strong understanding of major social media platforms and their features.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Basic graphic design/video editing skills and familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud applications.

Familiarity with sports marketing and promotions is a plus.

Provide an enthusiastic and energetic appearance to all fans during each home game.

Education and/or Experience Currently enrolled or recent graduate from an accredited college or university pursuing a degree or coursework related to the functions of the position.

Computer Skills To perform the job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and Internet Explorer. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and InDesign.

Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small‑group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Work Hours Hours vary according to the game and event schedule. Maximum of 30 hours per week.
