Essen Health Care, New York, NY, United States
Overview
About Intention Healthcare, An Essen Health Care Company
As the largest privately held multispecialty medical group in the Bronx, we provide high-quality, compassionate, and accessible medical care to some of the most vulnerable and underserved residents of New York State. Guided by a Population Health model of care, Essen has five integrated clinical divisions offering urgent care, primary care, and specialty services, as well as nursing home staffing and care management. Founded in 1999, our over 25-year commitment has fueled an unwavering dedication toward innovating a better healthcare delivery system.
Intention Healthcare is a division of Essen providing physician house calls, and it is the largest provider of house calls in New York. We provide compassionate medical care and care management services to ensure that our over 22,000 disabled and otherwise homebound seniors can live safely, comfortably, and with dignity in their homes.
Job Summary Medicare funds a concierge program for the highest-needs patients, in return for provably improving healthcare outcomes and reducing hospitalizations. The role of the Inside Sales Specialist is to educate patients about this program, about how this program can help them, and to assist them in enrolling in this program. You’ll receive lists of patients identified as eligible about the program, outreach them, and gather consents. We are looking for someone with sales experience, who understands how to do a consultative sale, how to make the patient feel empowered throughout the discussion, rather than pitched at, and who can be self-organized to outreach to, and follow-up with, their contacted patients as needed and deliver against a target enrollment rate.
Responsibilities
Learn the details of the program and the context in which it is offered so that you can help patients and their families to understand the value it will bring to their lives. Some understanding of the health care industry and terminology (not clinical) is required.
Call, or otherwise outreach, patients constantly throughout the day, bringing a positive energy and enthusiasm to each call.
Keep track of patients outreached in such a way that you can complete additional follow-up and follow-through using excel-based tracking sheets.
Consult the patient’s Electronic Health Record prior to each call in order to understand a little about where the patient is in their healthcare journey, so you can better tailor the conversation to their needs.
Suggest improvements to how you might approach the call and discussion of the program based on how patients respond to your conversation.
Surface patient needs and work with Care Management team to address those needs in real time to “show, not tell” the value of the services we provide.
Assist elderly and otherwise not highly technological patients and family members with completing an e-Consent form for enrollment in the program.
Ensure timely and accurate completion of forms and submissions for patients wishing to enroll.
Understand compliance issues related to how the program is discussed and pitched, and ensure your organic patient conversations remain within the “rules of the road.”
Support audits and regulatory reviews by maintaining proper documentation and compliance standards.
Qualifications
Associates degree, Bachelor's degree, or above
Some amount of experience in health care or social work
2-3 years experience in sales
Ability to function in a fast-paced environment, to be held accountable for high performance standards, and to deliver against targets and KPIs?
Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and health insurance terminology
Skills & Competencies
Strong communication and public speaking skills
High EQ and excellent active listening skills
Excellent sales or persuasion skills
Cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse, underserved populations
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including ability to use filters and conditional formatting to manage your own workflows and follow-up.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay: $25/hr base, some OT available, performance-based bonuses up to 40% of base wages
Job Type: Full-time
