Position Summary
The Designer/Architect II is responsible for independently executing design and documentation tasks across all project phases. The position actively participates in project discussions, takes on tasks of significance, and independently problem-solves. The position takes responsibility for coordinating consultants and proactively assists project leadership with the execution of their responsibilities. The Designer/Architect II is able to demonstrate design aptitude and facility with multiple modes of visual expression as well as exercise sound independent judgement with design tasks. The position requires advanced Revit skills, strong organizational skills including time-management and prioritization, and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Key Duties and Responsibilities
Works with others to design, compile data, do area take-offs, prepare plans/renderings. Generates ideas and provides general input to design. Engages in design tasks, elevations, plans and sections (including discussion) at the schematic level. Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard techniques/methodologies. Understands the constructability of design in context of budgets, building systems, codes, materials, etc. Incorporates other disciplines (e.g. MEP, construction methods, budget) in the design process. Prepares design presentation documents. Prepares construction documents. Maintains construction administration submittal logs. Coordinates consultant documents including plans, estimates, and reports. Additional Duties and Responsibilities
Supports the work of project leadership, as needed/assigned. Networks with the broader design community. Pursues continuing education in Architecture. Pursues education/training/experience in team, project, and client management. Required Education, Experience and Credentials
Bachelor of Architecture Three (3) + years of experience as a designer/architect in a client services firm Professional design portfolio Completed AXP, actively pursuing registration Preferred Education, Experience and Credentials
Master of Architecture LEED GA certified WELL certified Sustainable Building Materials certified Required Skills and Abilities

Adobe Creative Suite Rhino Sketchup CAD Rendering software, e.g. Enscape Bluebeam Deltek Vantagepoint Newforma Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to perform work using a Windows operating system. Preferred Skills and Abilities
Ability to evaluate and recommend new tools appropriate to the project. Working Conditions, Physical Activities and Demands
Office environment, no adverse environmental conditions expected on a usual basis. Occasionally visiting construction sites with exposure to outdoor elements, variable temperatures, hazards, and noise. Constantly repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers. Constantly assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned. Constantly remaining in a stationary position, often sitting for prolonged periods. Constantly communicating with others to exchange information.
