Sales Manager The Sales Manager (SM) is responsible for driving studio revenue through membership and package sales while ensuring a premium, high-touch member experience. This role oversees lead management, client onboarding, and sales performance while supporting overall studio operations.
The Sales Manager works closely with the Studio Manager and studio leadership to develop the team, optimize the sales process, and cultivate a results-driven, community-oriented environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Lead membership and package sales, optimizing the client onboarding experience and ensuring exceptional service throughout every stage of the member journey.
Ensure compliance with studio procedures, operational standards, and safety protocols across all areas of the business.
Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the studio and its surrounding areas to uphold brand presentation and operational standards.
Collaborate with team members to maintain a spotless studio environment and ensure all equipment and facilities remain in peak condition.
Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sales, lead conversion, and client retention to ensure studio goals are met.
Demonstrate strong relationship-building and leadership skills, inspiring and supporting team members to achieve sales and service goals.
Maintain a highly organized, detail-oriented approach to daily operations with the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Leadership Excellence
Support recruiting, training, and developing Front Desk and Studio Support team members with a focus on sales confidence and service excellence.
Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and growth opportunities to team members.
Lead onboarding and continued sales training to ensure the team consistently delivers strong membership presentations and studio tours.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivating team culture aligned with brand values.
Address personnel issues professionally and in accordance with company policies.
Sales Leadership & Performance
Drive studio revenue through memberships, packages, retail, and promotional offerings.
Manage and track all sales leads, ensuring timely follow-up through phone, text, and email communication.
Set and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals for the team.
Analyze sales performance and lead conversion metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
Partner with studio leadership to adjust strategies and initiatives to meet or exceed sales targets.
Implement grassroots marketing initiatives, partnerships, and community events to generate new leads.
Maintain a strong personal sales performance and lead by example on the sales floor.
Member Experience
Support leadership in delivering a best-in-class, personalized member experience.
Handle member questions, concerns, and feedback with professionalism and care.
Build meaningful relationships with members to encourage retention and loyalty.
Champion the studio experience and ensure every interaction reflects the brand’s service standards.
Organizational Relationships The Sales Manager reports to the Studio Manager or above studio leadership and collaborates closely with them on sales strategy, staffing, and studio performance.
The Sales Manager also supports the daily coaching and development of Front Desk and studio support personnel, particularly in the areas of sales performance, lead follow-up, and client experience.
Qualifications Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong leadership and team coaching abilities.
Passion for fitness, wellness, and community engagement.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
Clear and professional communication skills—both verbal and written.
Ability to analyze sales data and apply insights to improve performance.
Minimum Educational Level / Certifications
High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
CPR/AED certification required (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire).
Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications
2–4 years of experience in fitness, wellness, retail, or boutique studio sales environments.
Previous leadership experience managing teams of 5–10+ employees preferred.
Proven success in sales, customer service, and operational performance.
Experience with CRM systems, boutique studio software, or scheduling platforms preferred.
Physical Demands / Environmental Conditions
Ability to move throughout the studio and assist with operations as needed.
Occasionally demonstrate or assist with equipment usage.
Flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
Occasional travel (up to 20%) for meetings, training, or support of related studios.
