Junior Designer

We're placing a Junior Designer with a robotics and industrial equipment company in the North Detroit area. This is a direct hire opportunity with a competitive compensation package and a hybrid schedule.
What You'll Be Doing: You’ll support the engineering team by owning CAD deliverables from early concept through production release. Day‑to‑day you’ll be building and modifying 3D parts and assemblies in SolidWorks, producing 2D drawings with GD&T and BOMs, and collaborating with manufacturing, purchasing, and suppliers to keep design packages accurate and on track. You’ll also support design revisions and ECOs while helping maintain organized CAD files, templates, and component libraries.
What We're Looking For:
Working proficiency in SolidWorks (parts, assemblies, and drawings) required
Ability to read and interpret engineering documentation: sketches, redlines, BOMs, and specs (required)
Associates/Bachelors degree or certificate in CAD, Drafting, or Mechanical Design — or equivalent hands‑on experience
1‑2 years in a CAD/design role; internship and co‑op experience counts
Detail‑oriented with strong file and version discipline
