About the Role
WHAT IS THE ROLE OF A MARKETING ASSOCIATE, FOODSERVICE INTERN AT GENERAL MILLS?
North America Foodservice (NAF) business segment competes in the growing away-from-home food market in the US and Canada. Our mission is to create growth away from home together for operators in diverse channels – including K-12 schools, colleges & universities, restaurants, bakeries, pizzerias, hospitals, hotels and senior living facilities.
What Will I Do? Your NAF career will be built through different roles and assignments, each designed to build the depth and breadth needed to transform future Marketing leadership roles at General Mills.
Internship: 10-week summer experience at the World Headquarters (WHQ) in Minneapolis, MN that includes working on real and impactful Marketing projects across our different areas within NAF Marketing: Channel, Platform and Custom; in close interaction with cross-functional partners and leadership teams throughout the United States.
Onboarding and Development Experiences
1-2 weeks enhanced intern orientation and NAF & Marketing training
Foundational marketing skills and product knowledge through structured curriculum
Types of Potential Projects and Exposure
Active engagement on Marketing projects, each designed to build depth and breadth of understanding of Marketing and NAF’s brands and operators
Recommend core Marketing strategies and receive hands‑on experiences
Build relationships through cross‑functional projects, mentorships, and industry organizations
Presentation to senior leadership at the end of your internship
Performance Feedback
Two performance appraisals throughout the summer

Possibility of receiving a Full‑Time offer for a NAF Marketing Associate role at WHQ

Bachelor’s degree, open to any major
Graduation dates December 2026 – June 2027
Preferred Qualifications
Business, Communications, Marketing and Liberal Arts majors
Foodservice and/or Hospitality experience
Strong interpersonal skills, high learning agility, analytical and decision‑making skills
Exemplary people, technical, and process leadership ready to take initiative and add value to their team
