
Resort Financial Analyst-On Property

Overview
Summary : The Resort Financial Analyst provides financial, analytical, and operational support for
Wild Dunes Resort , ensuring accurate reporting, timely month‑end close, and compliance with internal controls. The role partners closely with operational leaders across Rooms, Food & Beverage, Spa, Golf, Retail, and Homeowners Associations to deliver insights that support informed decision‑making, cost control, and overall resort financial performance. Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare, review, and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly financial/operational reports for all resort departments, including income audits.
Analyze revenue, labor productivity, cost of goods, operating expenses, and margin trends; research and explain variances to budget/forecast/prior year.
Support the preparation of monthly financial statements, departmental P&Ls, and management commentary.
Maintain KPI dashboards (e.g., ADR, RevPAR, GOP, capture rate, check average, labor $/cover, spa/golf utilization) and provide actionable insights.
Month-End Close & General Accounting
Prepare journal entries, accruals, and reclasses; ensure accuracy and completeness of the general ledger.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts with appropriate support; resolve reconciling items timely.
Assist with sales/use tax, hospitality-related fees, and other regulatory filings as assigned.
AP/AR & Purchasing Support
Support AP processing (3‑way match, coding, approvals) and vendor inquiries; assist with AR billing and collections as needed.
Perform credit card settlements, and chargeback reviews in accordance with policy.
Partner with operational leaders to reinforce purchasing, receiving, and inventory control procedures.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning
Assist with annual budget development and periodic reforecasts.
Build and maintain models; provide historical data, trend analysis, and sensitivity scenarios.
Facilitate budget meetings with department leaders and help operationalize targets.
Internal Controls, Compliance & Audit
Ensure adherence to USALI 12th Edition, internal control standards, and Resort/Hyatt financial policies.
Maintain audit‑ready documentation; participate in internal and external audits.
Safeguard assets and uphold data privacy/confidentiality protocols.
Systems, Data & Process Improvement
Leverage PMS/POS/accounting systems to automate and streamline reporting.
Document and enhance accounting processes to improve accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency.
Contribute to cross‑functional projects that elevate financial visibility and decision support.
Qualifications Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required.
1+ years of accounting or financial analysis experience; hospitality experience a plus.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Basic understanding of accounting principles and core accounting cycles (close, reconciliations, AP/AR, revenue).
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, basic modeling); familiarity with BI/reporting tools is a plus.
Experience with hospitality technology systems (e.g., PMS/POS, inventory, and accounting platforms) beneficial.
Analytical, detail‑oriented, and organized; able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Strong communication and partnership skills; able to translate financial insights for non‑financial leaders.
High level of integrity and discretion with sensitive financial information.
