
Mechanical Designer I

A Mechanical Designer I (D I) is responsible for developing initial layouts, overseeing revisions of existing CAD files, and creating/manipulating drawings from conceptual markups or verbal instructions to the Company’s or Client’s requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
Efficiently create and modify drawings and 3D models based on designer or engineering markups, ensuring strict adherence to company and client standards. Prepare all drawings and standards in full accordance with company and client requirements. Coordinate designs effectively with other disciplines, including civil, electrical, and GIS. Operate with minimal supervision, providing valuable guidance to junior drafting personnel. Rigorously review drawings for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with company design standards. Develop and implement new company design standards to enhance overall efficiency. Guarantee the quality of all work and meet required schedules for assigned tasks and projects. Support document control and organize drawing files for streamlined access and management. Actively participate in drawing reviews and coordination meetings. Exhibit a strong willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and software. Strictly adhere to all corporate safety protocols. Some travel may be required. Required Skills and Abilities
Solid understanding of mechanical engineering concepts. Proficiency with CAD and other software packages in standalone configuration as well as network setups (e.g., AutoCAD,Plant 3D, CadWorx Plant, CadWorx P&ID, Isogen, Navisworks, Bluebeam, Google Earth). Ability to recognize design issues/conflicts and communicate to supervisor or more senior staff. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to organize and prioritize project workload. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Attention to detail and commitment to quality Team player – able to communicate and relate well with others. Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Occasional lifting of office supplies or equipment up to 20 pounds. Ability to move around the office for daily tasks and meetings.
