Marketing Intern Reports to

Marketing Coordinator

GENERAL DESCRIPTION The Marketing Intern will support the Marketing Team in planning, developing, and executing marketing initiatives. Their main duties include ensuring cohesive branding, executing social media and email campaigns, data collection and knowledge management, and completing administrative duties. They will get to explore a facet of the marketing process that most interests them. They will gain hands‑on experience with professional marketing processes and learn the unique marketing tactics used by a business‑to‑business (B2B) brand.

RESPONSIBILITIES Students can choose which responsibilities they would like to gain experience in and will not be responsible for all the items listed below.

Assist in marketing and advertising promotional activities (e.g. social media, and sales funnels)

Prepare and/or update promotional presentations, project profiles and articles

Help distribute marketing materials to press and client subscribers

Help organize attendance at industry events

Create visual content that aligns with the brand guidelines

Perform market analysis, data analysis and research on competition

Brainstorm and pitch campaign ideas

Interview project design teams for project profiles

Photograph past and present projects, and edit to professional standards

Organize internal media for easy internal accessing and sharing

Update company websites

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS Students only need prerequisite knowledge appropriate to the area of responsibility they are interested in, and do not need to have skills in all the areas below.

Strong desire to learn along with professional drive

Knowledge of marketing strategies, tactics, and tools

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Strong Adobe Creative Suite skills including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Lightroom

Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software

Aptitude with social media platforms, esp. LinkedIn, as well as associated data tracking tools

Ability to quickly learn and process information

Photography or drone experience, esp. in real estate

Front‑end or back‑end web development

COMPENSATION UNPAID INTERNSHIP

College Credit:

Candidates must be enrolled in and on track to graduate from a two‑or four‑year college or university with a degree or certificate in Marketing, Graphic Design, Photography, Writing/Journalism, Information Management, Business or a related discipline.

Candidates must be able to receive college credit in exchange for their time (this is an unpaid internship).

Candidates must have a High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
