
Marketing Intern at Willamette University

As we head into the world of influencer marketing, The OIEI is looking for (1), with the possibility of (2), organized, self‑motivated person/people to become our Marketing Intern(s). The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a working environment. The person in this position will work 5-10 hours per week and should be registered for IDS-194. This is a fun and flexible position that will work around your class and activities schedule!
The OIEI Marketing Intern will perform a variety of tasks and will report to the OIEI’s Marketing Coordinator. The Marketing Intern will also provide support for and work collaboratively with, but not limited to, the OIEI student staff and SOAR Center Intern. This position will develop skills in communication, publicity, and social media marketing.
Internship can be extended to additional semesters upon positive evaluation and IDS-194 registration.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities Marketing
Assist with maintaining social media accounts, organize & maintain posting schedule, & Canva files
Film, edit, and post reels, tiktoks, etc.
Assist with the creation of the weekly newsletter
Assist with managing the email listserv
Table weekly to biweekly for the Office of Intercultural Engagement & Inclusion
Relational
Provide regular updates & maintain open communication with OIEI team
Be friendly and interactive when working with others
Administrative
Create, enter, & analyze data or reports on GoogleSuite
Compose, edit, & proofread correspondence as directly
Manage OIEI marketing as needed
Generate an end‑of‑semester report on your work
Assist with marketing in collaboration with staff
Other duties as assigned
Requirements : The successful applicant must be a registered student at the Salem Willamette University campus and remain a registered student throughout the academic semester to receive your leadership award in full and course credit.
Preferably enrolled in IDS-194 by add/drop date.
Ongoing availability during the duration of hiring.
Have access to social media outlets (i.e. Instagram, Tiktok, Capcut, Later) on your phone or laptop (we are unable to compensate you for using your own devices).
Effective multitasker with ability to collaborate with many people.
Experience with Canva.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Commitment to equity & continued learning.
Ability to operate a computer, telephone, and other equipment.
Experience with Google Suite.
Ability to follow directions, take initiative, manage workflow and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
