
Film Marketing & Social Media Intern

We are an independent film studio producing a feature length movie in Duluth, MN this summer and we are looking for a local, creative, and camera-ready intern to help capture behind-the-scenes footage on and off set and turn it into fun, engaging short-form content for our social media and marketing channels.
This hands-on, part-time, on-set role is designed for students or early-career creators who want real film marketing experience, mentorship, and published portfolio work.

Film Marketing & Social Media Intern 8 Weeks, Summer 2026 20 hours per week June - August (exact start & end dates negotiable) Location & logistics (please read carefully)
This role is a part-time hybrid role (20 hours a week), with up to 10 hours a week in-person, on a film set in Duluth, MN this summer between June and August Candidates must be local to the Duluth area during the summer internship period Candidates must have reliable transportation to get themselves to set on required days This role does not include housing, travel, or relocation assistance. Candidates must be able to commute to filming locations independently Part-Time, 20 hours per week 8 Weeks (160 hours total) $3,600 total (effective $22.50 hourly rate) Weekly Paid internship What you’ll do (20 hours per week)
Creative ideation (est. 5 hours per work, remote) Help pitch short video ideas (comedic & informative) for each week of the internship Adapt relevant trends and formats to a real working film set Develop relationships with crew to generate department-specific content Help develop a content calendar for film audiences and future recruitment (interns, cast, crew etc) On-set content capture (est. 10 hours per week in-person, Duluth, MN) Film behind-the-scenes and candid moments during key pre-production, on-set production, and post-production days Capture fun, personality-driven cast and crew moments, setups, rehearsals, scouts, and day-to-day life on set without interfering with production or photography Record short interviews or reactions when approved, use relevant social media trends Editing & posting coordination (est. 5 hours per week, remote)
Edit content into vertical format for social media platforms (focusing on Instagram, TikTok, and Youtube Shorts) Draft captions and hashtags Prepare posts for internal approval Organize and store footage so it can be reused in future marketing and promotional campaigns What you will not be responsible for
No paid advertising; No advanced marketing analytics or reporting dashboards (basic experience helpful); No direct film production assistance or crew coordination. This role is focused on creative content marketing for our studio. Production equipment will be provided. Required qualifications

Ability to work on-site in Duluth during filming requirements Reliable transportation and ability to commute independently Comfortable being on camera, interviewing people on a working set, and knowledge of set etiquette I.e. awareness of when is and is not appropriate to respectfully approach cast or crew Basic video editing and media management (Premiere, DaVinci, CapCut, Final Cut, Google Drive or similar) Nice to have
Film, media, marketing, or communications background and interest Previous social media or content creation experience Basic iphone/ipad camera, audio, and lighting set up experience Comfort at an inclusive studio with a highly diverse cast and crew How to apply
