Job Description Are you a creative storyteller who loves writing, designing, and bringing ideas to life through content creation? The State of Nebraska Communications Team is seeking a Marketing Intern to assist with content creation, social media strategy, and public relations initiatives that help share our mission and connect with communities across the state.

This internship is a great opportunity for students studying Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or Public Relations who want hands‑on experience in digital content creation, branding, and strategic communications.

Key Responsibilities

Develop creative content for social media, newsletters, and digital campaigns.

Draft and edit communication materials including press releases, articles, talking points, and website copy. Design graphics and visual materials using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and Microsoft Office tools.

Assist with media campaign strategy, monitoring engagement, and analyzing reach.

Collaborate with the communications team to brainstorm and execute content strategies.

Support video and photography projects as needed, with an emphasis on storytelling and message alignment.

Ensure consistent branding and tone across platforms and communication materials.

Requirements / Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited college or university (two‑to‑four‑year institution) OR recently graduated (within one year) from an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited college or university (two‑to‑four‑year institution).

Preferred Qualifications

Coursework or training in marketing, communications, or administrative support functions, including use of digital tools and office software. OR experience in writing, customer service, or public communications.

Pursuing a degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.

Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.

Experience or coursework in content creation, digital media, or public relations.

Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and Microsoft Office.

Understanding of social media platforms and audience engagement strategies.

Ability to work collaboratively, meet deadlines, and manage multiple creative projects.
