General Description:
Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB) is the official destination marketing organization for the city and is designed to promote travel to Atlanta. The award-winning marketing team is responsible for marketing the destination to favorably impact Atlanta’s economy through conventions and tourism. ACVB is seeking a digital content marketing intern for summer to help the marketing team research and create content to increase tourism for Atlanta.
Learning Opportunities Marketing interns at ACVB will be an integral member of the department, getting immersed in the world of content creation for our website and social media channels. You’ll learn the behind-the-scenes of creating content from start to finish while having fun along the way. Reporting to the team’s social media manager and video producer, this intern will gain a better understanding of the basic day-to-day tasks that make up a marketing position and how the hospitality industry operates overall. This will be a hands‑on internship to understand 360 marketing. ACVB interns are encouraged to attend industry events and business openings to network with hospitality professionals and build relationships. Responsibilities
Learn about the tourism industry, and the ins and outs of working for a convention and visitors bureau
Learn how data and audiences impact development of content
Brainstorm content ideas across platforms using research and data
Work with the content manager to understand the development of an annual content calendar
Research and write SEO‑friendly articles and partner pages for DiscoverAtlanta.com
Research events throughout the city and add to event entry system to contribute to calendar of events
Capture content with phone or video camera on shoots throughout Atlanta with social media manager and video producer
Help with organizing content and uploading content to the company public drive and digital asset management system
Edit content with an editing software for digital channels
Follow and report on social media trends for new content creation opportunities
Create graphics following ACVB’s style guidelines to be used across marketing platforms
Additional Information
Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 20 hours/week during normal, business hours for a up to 12 weeks – exact work schedule TBD
Work Environment: Standard, temperature‑controlled office environment with moderate office noise level
Work Location: This is an on‑site position located in the Atlanta office
Physical Requirements: Light lifting up to 5 lbs. Note: the physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Travel: 10‑20%
Academic credit: If intern wishes to receive academic credit for the internship, it will be the intern’s responsibility to make arrangements with their school.
Qualifications Knowledge & Skills
Excellent social media‑based skillset with knowledge of channels including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, LinkedIn, Threads, YouTube
Strong writing skills
Knowledge of video camera and editing software
Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
Knowledge of WordPress is a plus
Willingness and ability to learn quickly
Basic understanding of and demonstrated interest in Atlanta’s hospitality industry, travel and tourism

Education & Work Experience
Currently pursuing a college degree in marketing, journalism, mass communications or related discipline
