Overview
Department : Business Operations Salary : Commensurate with Experience/Education Description : This is an internal only posting. Serves as a senior leader responsible for advancing the strategic vision, operational excellence, and overall performance of the Division of Advancement & Alumni. Provides leadership and oversight for fundraising, alumni engagement, volunteer management, and external relations initiatives that strengthen institutional impact and philanthropic growth. Partners with university leadership, donors, alumni, and community stakeholders to drive engagement, cultivate meaningful relationships, and secure resources that support the university\'s mission and long-term priorities. Ensures alignment of divisional strategies with institutional goals while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance. Responsibilities
Centrally drive the planning of initiatives and projects for the division, and coordinate with individual units to ensure alignment. Engages a broad range of constituents and stakeholders across the university in the planning process. Serves as a resource for advancement & alumni by providing updates and recommendations on key initiatives/projects to the various teams. Conceptualize, implement, direct and manage responsibilities overseen by Division of Advancement and Alumni, while working closely with university leadership and other stakeholders. Serves as liaison to external vendors contracted to work with the division. Serves as an internal consultant, collaborator, and leader with colleagues in Annual Giving, Major and Principal Gifts, Gift Planning, Corporate and Foundation Relations, Constituent Engagement, Prospect Research, IT and all fundraising units, and the UH Alumni Association Foundation, as determined. Fosters and maintains productive relationships with university-wide colleagues; conducts regular meetings and information sharing with academic and leadership stakeholders. Administers the department budget and personnel. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications
MQ: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4-year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of seven (7) years of directly job-related experience. Department is willing to accept education in lieu of experience.
