Overview
Charter Brokerage LLC, a Berkshire Hathaway Company, is seeking a candidate who has knowledge of, or interest in developing their career in the U.S. Customs import-export field in the position of International Trade Specialist. Responsibilities
Reviewing commercial documents and information for import-export compliance. Processing documents for U.S. Customs clearance and entry for importation into the United States, or export reporting to the U.S. Department of Commerce. Submitting government clearance forms and relevant documents in a timely manner. Communicating effectively with importers, exporters, and related parties. Tracking risk areas of compliance while filing import entries and export documentation. Qualifications
Possess a bachelor’s degree in international trade or related business field. We will consider a candidate with experience, or strong conviction that they are qualified. Have excellent customer-service focus. Have a strong proficiency to prioritize and to multitask. Have strong written and verbal communication skills. Have a strong work ethic. Be a problem solver. Be focused on attention to detail. Enjoy working in a collaborative environment. Have strong organization skills. Be highly motivated and proactive. Knowledge of the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE), 19 CFR and the HTSUS would be helpful but is not required.
