
Foreign Trade Zone Analyst

Overview

This role plays a critical part in managing Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations, ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection regulations while supporting efficient global supply chain operations. The position combines regulatory expertise with operational oversight and data analysis to maintain compliance, optimize trade processes, and ensure accurate inventory control within the FTZ environment. Key Responsibilities
FTZ Compliance & Operations
Manage Foreign Trade Zone operations in accordance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection regulations (19 CFR) and Department of Commerce regulations (15 CFR). Oversee FTZ admissions, customs entries, and required reporting activities. Ensure all import/export transactions comply with applicable customs laws and regulatory requirements. Inventory & Recordkeeping
Maintain accurate FTZ inventory control and recordkeeping systems. Monitor and reconcile inventory movement within the FTZ environment. Ensure documentation and records meet audit and compliance standards. Reporting & Regulatory Interaction
Prepare and submit daily, monthly, and annual FTZ reports. Coordinate with U.S. Customs and other government agencies regarding regulatory requirements. Support internal and external audits related to trade compliance. Data Analysis & Process Improvement
Analyze transactional data to identify discrepancies, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvement. Recommend best practices to enhance compliance, efficiency, and reporting accuracy. Partner with cross-functional teams including logistics, operations, and finance to ensure smooth cargo flow and regulatory adherence. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 5–7+ years of experience in international logistics, trade compliance, or customs operations. Direct experience with Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations required. Licensed Customs Broker certification is a plus but not required. Strong knowledge of import/export regulations, documentation, and compliance procedures. Familiarity with U.S. Customs law and supply chain management practices. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex regulatory requirements. Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments and organizational levels.
