Our Inside Sales team, driven by excellence, strategic execution, and strong relationships to win, is hiring a Senior Business Development (BD) Proposal Specialist. This role coordinates proposal activities within a market segment, collaborating with client service managers to understand and implement their client plans and strategies. The successful candidate will lead pursuit teams through proposal stages and use tools to enhance submittals. We support work/life balance and foster a growth mindset to elevate our strengths and maintain a positive, dynamic team culture. Responsibilities
Lead the development and completion of strategic and/or complex proposals (including shortlist interviews), addressing client needs and aligning messaging with information gathered during the positioning phase. Coordinate, lead, and track activities from kick-off through development, including quality assurance, compliance, production, and delivery of the finished product. Facilitate meetings with team members to outline message components and develop differentiators, win themes, and compelling text and graphics. Communicate with market segment leadership to ensure action items from strategy development are completed to increase win probability. Work with marketing communications to create and prepare pursuit-specific collateral or materials. Participate in interviews to ensure client needs and proposal themes are addressed; attend interview preparation and coach teams on presentation skills. Interview technical staff to tailor/write resumes, project descriptions, and other proposal information. Perform data and knowledge management activities for current and future proposal needs. Oversee planning, editing, and production of content for other projects such as statements of qualifications and presentations. Collaborate with graphic design and other proposal team members to communicate requirements and expectations. Organize, manage, and/or co-lead review calls. Attend client pre-proposal and debrief meetings when needed and share lessons learned with the team. Competencies
Proposal development experience for a broad range of RFPs/solicitations Excellent written and verbal communications with persuasive writing, editing, presentation and interview coaching Strong layout and presentation experience Ability to work independently and collaboratively Effective project management in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in meeting deadlines Strong interpersonal and communication skills Detail- and results-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications or related field 8+ years of experience in proposal development in the A/E/C industry Energy experience a plus Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and InDesign Experience with Deltek VantagePoint is a plus (Salary range for IL, CO, and MN locations) Stanley Consultants is committed to transparency in our hiring process, including compensation information.
