Overview Do you want to transform cities and communities? MBS Urban Initiatives CDE is an affiliate of MBS that brings investment resources to these same communities, through programs like New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC). The NMTC Portfolio Analyst supports our NMTC program through management of an investment portfolio, maintaining program compliance, developing community outreach programs, and developing, collecting, and analyzing community impacts generated by investments. The Analyst works closely with the Senior Vice President/Director of New Markets to identify, evaluate, and assist in closing investments in cities across the country. The role includes in-work training and has the potential to grow into higher level responsibilities.

NMTC Closings, Underwriting, End of Compliance Period/Exits:
Assist in NMTC loan closings and loan exits
Set up reporting and construction monitoring for newly closed transactions
Assist with preparation of documents in connection with the end of compliance period
Participate in site visits and/or conferences
Compliance:
Review and assist borrowers with completing intake forms
Maintain current risk rating for assigned portfolio and assist with resolution of post-closing issues that come up
Oversee collections, maintenance and review of compliance documentation files and investor notifications
Assist with maintaining NMTC Standard Operating Procedures
Coordinate collection of annual Advisory Board renewals and certifications
Schedule and prepare for Advisory Board meetings
Assist with annual NMTC application
Maintain list of current financing statements and renewing UCCs
Review all construction draws
Community Impacts:
Manage the collection, maintenance, and sharing of borrower / project impact data
Work with borrowers to design, implement and maintain community outreach programs
Education/Experience:
2-5 years of professional level/industry experience preferred
Understanding of community development, outreach and/or tax credit financing is a plus
Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines with a strong attention to detail
Strong oral and written communications skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time
Must be a self-starter and capable of working independently with the ability to prioritize workflow with guidance
Work Environment/Expectations:
This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely utilizes standard office equipment such as computers, phone, photocopiers, printers, and filing cabinets.
This position requires sitting, bending, stooping, or standing as necessary. Our offices are equipped with electronic desks for standing or sitting.
Fast-paced environment of dedicated urban innovators
Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Ability to work extra hours as determined by the workload
Opportunity for travel to conferences and site visits
Ability to speak English to communicate with customers, team members, vendors, etc.
