Job Summary
The Custom Cabinetry Finisher is responsible for delivering high-quality finishes on custom cabinetry and millwork, ensuring color accuracy, surface consistency, and durability. This role requires advanced knowledge of finishing techniques, including staining, glazing, painting, and top-coating, as well as experience with various wood species and materials. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, patient, and committed to craftsmanship excellence, with a strong understanding of surface preparation, spray equipment, and custom finishing processes.
Key Responsibilities
Expertly apply finishes through spraying and hand techniques
Sand, stain, and finish cabinetry to meet high-quality standards
Match colors accurately using clear coats, paints, glazes, and stains
Apply both painted and stained finishes using solvent-based and waterborne products
Manage finishing processes for multi-component projects
Maintain, clean, and care for finishing equipment and tools
Collaborate with and assist team members to meet project deadlines
Supervisory Responsibilities There are no supervisory responsibilities with this position.
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum 5 years of finishing experience in a commercial or high-end cabinetry shop
Proficiency with a wide range of finishes, including stains, glazes, paints, and clear coats
Strong attention to detail and exceptional color-matching ability
Experience with both solvent-based and waterborne finishing systems
Ability to manage complex finishing projects with multiple components
Woodworking or cabinetmaking experience is a plus
