Electrical Fabrication Designer Job Summary: The Electrical Fabrication Designer Level 1 provides foundational support in electrical fabrication design, documentation, and material verification. This role assists senior designers in producing fabrication drawings, verifying equipment placement, and coordinating with engineers and shop floor personnel to ensure compliance with project requirements. Job Duties and Responsibilities Assist in electrical fabrication oversight, ensuring materials are available and properly staged. Support the verification of delivered electrical equipment, checking dimensions, ratings, and certifications. Work with Electrical Fabrication Designers to ensure fabrication documents are accurate and delivered to lead electricians. Assist in creating basic fabrication drawings, including section-by-section layouts of conduits, junction boxes, and pin connectors. Support testing and validation efforts, ensuring NEC compliance and documenting final builds. Help prepare field work documents, such as fire alarm layouts and building interface junction boxes. Assist in other related tasks Qualifications: Electrical Engineering Technologist One year of electrical design experience, preferably within HVAC, is an asset Proficient in reading and understanding electrical schematics, mechanical single lines, P&ID Drawings Proficient in Solidworks, Solidworks Electrical, AutoCAD, Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and EPDM A friendly personality, respectful of co-workers and able to work with individuals as part of a team Motivated self-starter with high level of initiative and able to work independently Problem solving, organizational, and time management skills Able to take directions and communicate with others Able to attend work regularly Able to meet the physical and sensory demands of the position Able to travel domestically and internationally. Core Competencies: Communication Teamwork Critical thinking Problem solving Contacts: Internal engineering and shop staff and contractors to exchange information, answer questions, and solve problems. Effort (Physical and Sensory): Perform work sitting and using computers for 8-10 hours daily Regular standing, walking, sitting, use of fine motor skills Occasional light lifting while performing tasks Regular vision/sensory demands: close, distance, peripheral, depth, and able to adjust focus.
