Job Description A locally owned fabrication company seeking a detail-oriented and motivated junior estimator to join our team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for fabrication projects, working closely with vendors, clients, the front office and the shop floor to ensure competitive and profitable bids.
Key Responsibilities
Review project drawings, specifications, and customer requirements
Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment
Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing
Analyze takeoffs and production methods to ensure accurate pricing
Communicate with internal teams to clarify scope and timelines
Assist with change orders and pricing adjustments as needed
Qualifications
Previous experience as an estimator (fabrication, metal, construction, or manufacturing preferred)
Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency with Excel and estimating software (or willingness to learn)
