Overview
A growing logistics organization located in West Chicago is seeking a design savvy engineer to help modernize the front end of their long established internal platform. This is a fulltime role supporting a small but deeply experienced IT team, working with modern JavaScript frameworks as they rebuild and elevate a 20 yearold product into something clean, intuitive, and modern. The role offers influence and freedom, with a team that values hands-on work, multiple responsibilities, and shaping both design direction and implementation. You will have ownership over UI/UX decisions, patterns, and workflows, making a direct impact on day-to-day operations. The role is primarily remote with a structured onsite rotation and a strong work-life balance. What You Will Be Doing
Tech Breakdown
70% UI/UX design, prototyping, and workflow modernization 20% Light front-end collaboration or hands-on coding (if comfortable) 10% Internal support & cross-functional collaboration Daily Responsibilities
75% Hands-On Design Work 15% Design Strategy / Pattern Development 10% Team Collaboration Required Skills & Experience
3–7+ years in UI/UX, product design, or interaction design Experience redesigning or modernizing complex web applications; strong skills in wireframes, prototypes, and user flows Familiarity with frontend technologies (HTML/CSS/JavaScript, React, or Angular) Comfort collaborating with engineering teams in a small, hands-on environment Ability to work onsite 1 week per month Desired Skills & Experience
Experience with internal tools, dashboards, or workflow-heavy systems Exposure to logistics, transportation, supply chain, or similar operational environments Background in design systems or pattern libraries Ability to test usability and gather user feedback The Offer
