Carex is working with a client partner in the insurance industry to find a skilled
Senior Digital Cloud Architect
to lead the design and implementation of resilient, scalable, and secure multi-cloud solutions. This role is essential in shaping cloud strategy and enabling effective adoption across a complex enterprise environment. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in cloud architecture, strong knowledge of security and compliance, and the ability to mentor and collaborate across technical and business teams. This is a contract to hire opportunity.
What You’ll Do
Develop and implement multi-cloud strategy aligned with business goals and architectural principles.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into secure, scalable cloud solutions.
Partner with the Enterprise Architecture team to create roadmaps, blueprints, and adoption plans.
Architect cloud infrastructure solutions ensuring best practices in scalability, performance, cost, and resilience.
Evaluate cloud vendors and technologies; lead proof-of-concepts and assessments.
Integrate non-functional best practices such as disaster recovery, resource optimization, and cost governance.
Incorporate DevOps, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), and automation into architecture practices.
Lead security and compliance reviews; implement controls and partner with security teams on IAM and threat modeling.
Design infrastructure management, monitoring, and performance optimization strategies.
Collaborate with developers, infrastructure, and security teams to promote architectural alignment.
Present architectural designs and patterns to the Architecture Review Board.
Mentor junior architects and engineers transitioning into cloud architecture roles.
Define, document, and enforce architecture standards through governance processes.
What You’ll Bring
Minimum 5 years of hands-on cloud solution architecture experience, with a focus on AWS.
At least 5 years of experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
Strong knowledge of AWS services and multi-cloud architectures; AWS certification preferred.
Expertise in containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
Proficiency in DevOps practices and modern observability tools.
Familiarity with serverless computing, microservices architecture, and zero-trust principles.
Experience managing cloud cost optimization and familiarity with FinOps practices.
Demonstrated ability to assess security risks and implement compliance measures in cloud environments.
Effective communicator with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Proven leadership in architectural governance and mentoring technical teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
