YMCA of the North, Minneapolis, MN, United States

Job Description

Senior Director, Enterprise Architecture & Digital Enablement YMCA of the North Minneapolis, Minnesota

Overview

YMCA of the North is seeking a Senior Director of Enterprise Architecture & Digital Enablement to shape how technology, data, and digital platforms support mission delivery across one of the largest YMCA associations in the country.

This role helps ensure that digital investments translate into practical improvements in how work gets done across the organization. The Senior Director serves as the enterprise steward for architecture, integration, and digital enablement, strengthening the foundations that support staff, leaders, and mission delivery.

With approximately 4,000 team members year-round and up to 6,000 during peak camp and program months, YMCA of the North operates within a complex digital ecosystem spanning multiple platforms, operational teams, and community programs. The organization serves more than 400,000 individuals across Minnesota and western Wisconsin each year.

Enterprise Scale Context

Digital systems support programs, member services, operational management, and enterprise decision-making across the organization. Enterprise architecture and integration play a critical role in ensuring these systems operate reliably, securely, and cohesively.

The organization operates within a Microsoft-centered digital ecosystem and utilizes platforms that support automation, integration, and analytics. This role helps guide how these systems evolve in a practical, scalable, and sustainable way.

Reporting Line and Executive Positioning

This position reports to the Executive Vice President, Chief Business Officer and provides enterprise advisory input on digital architecture, integration strategy, and technology investment decisions.

The role operates with enterprise scope and succeeds through partnership, influence, and disciplined delivery rather than centralized authority.

Explicit Collaborative Framing

The Senior Director partners closely with leaders across Finance, People & Culture, Operations, Strategy, Innovation, Technology, Data, and Security teams. The role also collaborates with platform owners, delivery teams, and external partners to translate enterprise priorities into secure, scalable digital solutions.

The work requires strong alignment across both technical and operational stakeholders.

The Opportunity

The Senior Director will help strengthen the digital foundations that enable YMCA of the North to operate effectively at enterprise scale. This role blends enterprise architecture stewardship with practical digital enablement, guiding both strategic architecture decisions and the delivery of working digital solutions.

The position focuses on improving integration across systems, strengthening enterprise data foundations, reducing manual work, and enabling scalable automation and digital capabilities.

The goal is not technology transformation for its own sake. It is disciplined digital progress that improves how work gets done across the organization.

Success in This Role Will Require Someone Who Can

Translate enterprise priorities into practical digital solutions that improve operational execution

Strengthen enterprise architecture alignment across platforms, integrations, and data environments

Guide digital investment decisions using clear architectural judgment and enterprise risk awareness

Reduce operational friction by identifying manual or fragile processes and designing automation solutions

Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

What This Role Is Designed to Do

Lead enterprise architecture across platforms, integrations, analytics, and enterprise data foundations

Establish practical architectural principles, guardrails, and integration patterns across digital initiatives

Develop and maintain a multi-year enterprise architecture roadmap aligned to organizational priorities

Design, build, or guide secure automations and integrations using low-code and integration platforms

Strengthen enterprise data foundations that support reporting, dashboards, and informed decision-making

Improve system integration to enhance data flow, reduce duplication, and eliminate operational bottlenecks

The Leader We Are Seeking

We are seeking a senior technology leader who combines strong architectural thinking with practical execution capability. The ideal candidate brings enterprise architecture judgment while remaining comfortable working directly with digital platforms, integrations, and automation tools.

This leader approaches digital decisions with discipline, balancing usability, governance, security, and operational risk while ensuring that technology meaningfully supports how the organization operates.

The Ideal Candidate Will

Bring significant experience in enterprise technology architecture and digital delivery leadership

Demonstrate the ability to operate across multiple platforms and functional domains

Translate complex business needs into practical technical architecture and delivery plans

Design or guide the delivery of digital solutions, integrations, and automation capabilities

This role helps ensure the YMCA’s digital ecosystem evolves in a thoughtful, integrated, and scalable way so the organization can continue serving communities across Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
