Director Of Fabrication-High Complexity

Director of Fabrication-High Complexity is responsible for leading and building the fabrication teams at sites which have 5 or more product lines. In addition, this position will be responsible for the strategy and production of complex orthotic devices across the network, irrespective of location or site demographic. Director is responsible for the financial performance of operations including the management of labor, materials and overhead. Position includes directing supervisory teams with daily operations to provide high quality class I and II devices to the O&P market and fostering customer relationships. Responsibilities also include a wide range of administration, engineering, regulatory, compliance, recruiting and training requirements Plan and coordinate available resources to achieve quality, production and financial objectives. Organize daily work flow to produce highest productivity possible within the department while maintaining product quality. Responsible for scheduling and expediting all work through the department. Order all necessary materials and components required to meet daily production schedule. Recruit, hire, train, and develop department personnel. Facilitate communication between practitioners and technicians on technical issues to enhance quality control. Build good communications between the Central Fabrication department and its customers, branches, Central Purchasing and all departments within Hanger. Provide all pricing for work performed. Ensure a safe working environment and promote "safety awareness" among employees. Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and other governmental rules and regulations. Create and distribute all department reports and summaries. Ensure adherence to all administrative and financial policies and procedures; develop company spirit and teamwork within the department. Performs other duties or special projects as assigned. Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects as well as ongoing production work. Proven track record of production Proven track record of quality assurance Computer skills must include word processing, spreadsheet, and data entry experience. Ability to create, develop and maintain positive working relationships Willing to travel Required Credentials: BS in Business Administration, Manufacturing Operations Five years of production operations experience Five years of production management experience. Five years orthotics/prosthetics fabrication production experience preferred. American Board Certified (ABC) registered technician preferred in Orthotics and or Prosthetics Physical Requirements: Ability to lift necessary supplies or materials frequently throughout the course of a work day/shift; must be capable of easily lifting fifty (50) pounds of weight alone. Ability to walk, bend, stand and reach constantly during a work day/shift. Visual acuity (near and distant) sufficient to maintain records, understand written direction, and fabricate or repair orthotic and prosthetic devices. Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand and give directions. Fine motor skills adequate for repairing and creating orthotic devices. Ability to participate in sustained activities for many hours in duration and in accordance with state labor laws.
