Fair Future is seeking a skilled, detail-oriented, and mission-aligned Grant Writer to join our team full time. The Grant Writer will contribute to the refinement of internal narrative templates, documentation practices, and quality control processes that strengthen the firms grant writing infrastructure.This role plays a central function in advancing Fair Futures client work and internal sustainability by developing high-quality, competitive grant proposals and narrative deliverables across foundation, corporate, and government funding streams. This role also supports Fair Futures internal fundraising and growth initiatives by contributing to proposals that fund the firms operations and strategic priorities. As Fair Future continues to scale. Reporting directly to the Head of Narrative Strategy, the Grant Writer is responsible for transforming programmatic information, evaluation data, and community context into clear, persuasive, and funder-ready narratives. This role requires more than technical writing skills; it demands strategic judgment, narrative coherence, and an understanding of how funding mechanisms intersect with equity, compliance, and organizational capacity.The Grant Writer operates within a collaborative, multi-client consulting environment and must be able to manage multiple proposal timelines simultaneously while maintaining accuracy, consistency, and alignment with both funder requirements and Fair Futures narrative standards. This position works closely with internal team members to ensure that grant narratives reflect program design, measurable outcomes, and community impact without overstating claims or compromising integrity. Additionally, this role works closely with assigned contractors.The ideal candidate is a strong writer and strategic thinker who understands grant writing as a disciplined, relational, and equity-centered practice. They are comfortable working within structured systems, responsive to feedback, and able to balance storytelling with compliance, deadlines, and funder expectations.1. Grant Proposal DevelopmentResearch, write, and edit grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and narrative attachments for foundation, corporate, and government fundersTranslate program goals, budgets, and outcomes into compelling, funder-aligned narrativesEnsure narrative consistency across proposals, work plans, budgets, and supporting documentsManage the full narrative lifecycle of grants from pre-award development through post-award reporting, in coordination with internal staff and client partnersTrack deadlines, submissions, and renewal timelines to ensure all deliverables are completed accurately and on time2. Narrative Strategy & Collaboration Work under the direction of the Head of Narrative Strategy to align grant writing with Fair Futures broader storytelling, messaging, and fundraising frameworksParticipate in proposal strategy meetings and internal reviewsIncorporate feedback through iterative drafting processes while maintaining clarity, voice, and funder alignmentCollaborate with evaluation, operations, and client services teams to synthesize qualitative and quantitative inputs3. Research & Data Integration Conduct or synthesize background research to support proposal narratives, including community data, needs assessments, and policy or systems contextIntegrate data points and citations into proposals to strengthen evidence-based argumentsMaintain organized source documentation in accordance with Fair Futures file management standards4. Reporting & Stewardship SupportDraft narrative sections of interim and final grant reportsSupport funder stewardship efforts through the preparation of narrative updates, summaries, and presentation materials as neededEnsure reporting narratives align with original proposal commitments and evaluation findings5.
