About the Role
The Company is seeking a Deputy Executive Director to provide executive oversight of strategic planning, development, operations, maintenance, marketing, air service development, and public relations activities across multiple airport facilities. The successful candidate will be a collaborative and steady leader, with a strong commitment to safety culture, accountability, and customer service excellence. This role requires a leader who can effectively communicate with internal teams and external partners, demonstrate sound judgment, political awareness, and operational credibility, and balance regulatory precision with strategic vision. The Deputy Executive Director will also be responsible for ensuring alignment with federal, state, and local requirements, and will support both daily execution and future growth initiatives.
Key responsibilities for the Deputy Executive Director include assuming primary administrative and operational leadership in the Executive Director's absence, overseeing airport planning, land use, development initiatives, and environmental and noise compliance, and supporting the development and oversight of the Capital Improvement Plan and major infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management or a related field, with a Master's degree preferred, and 7-10 years of progressively responsible airport management experience. A.A.E. credential or ACI USAP or IAP certification is desirable, or the willingness to obtain one. The role also involves representing the Authority with government agencies, business groups, and aviation organizations, and requires the ability to guide teams through complex regulatory and development initiatives.
