About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director to serve as the chief executive officer and primary public voice. The successful candidate will be responsible for advancing and protecting the interests of the association's members through strategic leadership, advocacy, member engagement, and financial stewardship. This role requires a highly visible and accessible leader who can balance external advocacy with operational management, ensuring the association's relevance, credibility, and long-term success. The Executive Director will work closely with the Board of Directors, staff, and external partners to develop and execute the association's strategic plan, monitor industry trends, and represent the association in interactions with federal agencies and Congress.

Candidates for the Executive Director position at the company should have senior leadership experience in a trade association, freight forwarding, logistics, or air cargo environment, with a proven ability to lead a working Board and build consensus. A strong understanding of Board governance, member-driven organizations, and lean staffing operations is essential. The ideal candidate will have a track record in professionalizing or scaling nonprofit or trade associations, including membership growth, conference management, and organizational modernization. Key qualifications include experience in advocacy, government affairs, or regulatory engagement, and a preference for those with established credibility and visibility within the logistics or air cargo industry. The role demands a responsive, accessible, and member-focused leader who is a credible and effective industry advocate, capable of managing competing priorities and excelling in highly visible external roles.
