MDS/RAI Education Director Long-Term Care / Skilled Nursing | Multi-Facility Support

Provides clinical leadership and education for the

RAI/MDS process

across multiple skilled nursing facilities. Responsible for ensuring accurate, compliant MDS completion while educating interdisciplinary teams on documentation that supports

quality resident care and appropriate Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement .

Serves as a regional clinical resource by providing

training, auditing, mentorship, and operational support

to facility MDS Coordinators and nursing leadership. Partners with operations and HR to support

recruitment, onboarding, and development

of MDS and clinical reimbursement staff.

Travel Requirements

This role requires regular travel to multiple facilities within the region to provide on-site education, operational support, auditing, and mentorship.

Travel may include weekly or multi-day visits to facilities as needed, particularly during onboarding of new MDS staff, regulatory preparation, or process improvement initiatives.

The position may require 50–75% travel depending on facility needs and organizational priorities.

Required Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing

2–3+ years of experience in long-term care, including direct MDS completion experience

Strong working knowledge of RAI, OBRA, PPS, and Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement regulations

Experience with MDS software systems and electronic medical records

Demonstrated experience in clinical education, auditing, or staff development

Preferred Qualifications

RAC-CT (Resident Assessment Coordinator – Certified) certification

Experience supporting multiple facilities or regional clinical operations

Experience participating in regulatory surveys or compliance initiatives
