The Town of Sherborn is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Director of Assessing.
This role offers an opportunity to lead the Town’s assessing operations and support accurate, equitable property valuation in a historic and highly engaged community.

Salary Range:
$47–$55 per hour (based on qualifications and experience)
The Director of Assessing is responsible for valuing all types and classes of real property and taxable personal property within the Town of Sherborn. The position oversees all activities of the Assessing Office and works closely with the Board of Assessors to ensure compliance with Massachusetts General Laws and Town bylaws.
This role provides leadership for the Town’s assessing operations and supports accurate and equitable property assessments that help maintain the integrity of Sherborn’s tax system.
Key Responsibilities
Value all classes of real property and taxable personal property in the Town.
Oversee the day-to-day activities and operations of the Assessing Office.
Support and advise the Board of Assessors in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws and Town bylaws.
Supervise Assessing Office staff (currently one direct report).
Schedule:
24 hours per week
Compensation:
$47–$55 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience
