Recertification Specialist

Work with members of Conifer's Compliance team to ensure properties are compliant with tax credit and other housing program regulations; work with the IT software technical support team when assistance needed. Assist residents and prospective residents with the application process. Responsible for compliance administration for housing programs, applications, lease renewals, interims, weekly reports and support/back up to property management teams. Full-Time | Temporary for 12 months and may go longer Monday - Friday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Prepare and process all leases, applications, recertifications and related forms on time in accordance with Conifer's expected standards of operations. Complete regular and special reports and duties as directed by District Manager. Ensure complete implementation and compliance with Tax Credit and HUD requirements and all directives as required. Process rent checks and issue receipts accurately and on time as required. Prepare and deliver late rent notices per requirements. Prepare and maintain Security Deposit process, log and all required data entry on a timely basis. Assist with preparing maintenance requests and maintaining maintenance log as needed. Assist other members of the property team as directed or needed. Provide support/back up the property management team when needed. Adhere to all Company personnel directives as per the manual of policies and procedures. Physical attendance at assigned work location during scheduled hours is essential. Other property management job-related duties as assigned. Minimum 2+ years prior Property Management experience, with experience supporting a minimum of 100 affordable housing units preferred. Compliance training or experience with HUD Section 8, Low Income Tax Credit preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office [Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint] for creating correspondence, internal and external reports. Data entry skills important for completion of regulatory forms, system inputting. Prior housing software experience desired; Yardi Voyager preferred. Previous Customer service experience helpful to support and interact with residents, prospective applicants, visitors, team members, and regulatory representatives. Basic Accounting skills (receivables, payables), good with math. Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) a plus. Reliable transportation, including automobile required with valid drivers' license and valid auto insurance policy. Minimum High School Diploma/GED equivalent required. Certifications in current applicable State Tax Credit Certification(s) preferred [COS, TCS] or willing to obtain promptly. Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written; good listening skills important. Ability to work independently; self-motivated. Excellent customer service skills with proven problem-solving skills. Collaborative with ability to work with and understand the issues, concerns and attitudes of employees, residents and prospective residents alike.
