Senior Specialist Emergency Preparedness
The Senior Specialist's primary responsibility is the development and delivery of the company's various Emergency Preparedness training and exercise initiatives and their supporting materials. The Senior Specialist is also responsible for educating Company stakeholders on the Emergency Preparedness programs, initiatives, and courses and facilitating training and exercises throughout the service territory. Duties include participating in ad hoc teams for the development, conduct, and evaluation of exercises; communication and promotion of updated plans and procedures to support the development of a prepared and well-trained workforce; participation in storm/system preparation and recovery management efforts, as needed; maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders, as well as regulatory agencies and various external agencies; and support of the company's emergency management/preparedness activities. Emergency Preparedness Specialists are expected to work as, or support, on-call staff during company emergencies and fulfill an emergency role, as required by his/her designated System Emergency Assignment. Core Responsibilities: Develop, maintain, and deliver Emergency Preparedness training programs and supporting materials. Educate internal stakeholders on Emergency Preparedness programs, initiatives, and courses. Lead, design, conduct, and evaluate emergency exercises and afteraction processes. Support storm/system preparation, emergency response, and recovery efforts, as needed. Serve as or support on-call staff and fulfill assigned System Emergency roles during emergencies. Create, update, and manage emergency plans, procedures, and processes with EP team members. Ensure training materials meet learning objectives, document control standards, and compliance requirements. Track corrective actions and improvement items in the company action-tracking system (e.g., ARCHER). Coordinate timely and accurate responses to regulatory and external agency requests. Maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, regulators, and external response agencies. Support Corporate and external Emergency Operations Center activations and exercises. Manage multiple priorities effectively while maintaining strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Required Education/Experience: Master's Degree and 2 years of relevant experience or Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant experience or Associate's Degree and 4 years of relevant experience or High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of relevant experience. Preferred Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant experience Emergency Management, ICS Response, communications, business, management, operations, public administration related experience preferred Relevant Work Experience: Demonstrated understanding and experience with the Incident Command System (ICS) and Emergency Management/Emergency Preparedness principles, required. Strong organization, time management, and adaptability; ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and handle instructional and special assignments, required. Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and facilitation skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees, management, regulators, and customers, required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (SharePoint, PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and ability to learn new technologies and documentation systems as needed, required. Experience developing and conducting training, including presentations and group activities; maintains professionalism and supports cross-functional teamwork, required. Experience with training systems (eTrain/LMS/TLC reporting), corrective action tracking, multidisciplinary teams, and basic knowledge of energy utility systems and operations, preferred. Must be able and willing to work at field locations in all weather conditions Must walk, stand, lift, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, and/or reach. Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed. Ability and willingness to respond during off-hours, work overtime (including weekends and holidays) as needs dictate.
