JOB SUMMARY The primary function of the Director, Business Development for Drug Product focuses on representing and winning new Development and commercial Drug Product manufacturing services. The Director will be responsible for revenue growth through prospecting and the implementation of strategies that generate sales from new and existing accounts. This position works independently to conduct business development activities, support proposal generation team and spearheads all proposal and project negotiations with the customer. Leads, coaches and mentors junior BD team members. Assures efficient and effective oversite, communication and execution of all current proposals.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES
Generate new business opportunities while managing and retaining relationships with existing clients.
Meet annual sales target for new closed contracts
Present our value proposition, differentiators and services
Attend tradeshows, conferences and seminars to generate new leads
Ensure that sales lead and sales order communications and associated internal project work at Adare occurs efficiently, and meets or exceeds management expectations.
Manage numerous details and information flows between the clients, Project Managers and Adare technical staff in a timely and concise fashion.
Identifying and mapping customer needs. Gather and manage project information collected from external and internal sources.
Assess required and available resources, and work with department management and external contractors in order to make necessary resources available for projects.
Use Salesforce and other lead management tools
Work directly with management and project team members to resolve outstanding scheduling or requirement problems.
Analyze sales pipeline and be responsible for sales funnel in order to achieve sales targets
Increasing client base by having an in-depth knowledge of business products and by following and identifying product trends both locally and internationally
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree and/or MBA in related field
3+ years’ of CDMO sales experience; some technical life science career foundation highly preferred
Successful track record of selling Drug Product Services required
Ability to travel +- 50% for client visits, site visits and tradeshows as needed
Detail oriented, organized, and possess good interpersonal communications skills.
Strong business and acumen
Negotiation and closing skills
Tact and diplomacy
A good grasp of numbers and the ability to write documents in a professional style
The ability to stay calm under pressure and meet tight deadlines
High degree of professionalism, ethics and integrity
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers.
Ability to use PC based software programs (e.g. Microsoft Word & Excel). Proficient at managing Salesforce or similar CRM products
