Job Purpose

Lead our Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) efforts as the primary technical expert. This role is for someone who is hands-on, deeply skilled in SFMC Engagement, and able to design, build, and scale advanced marketing automation programs. You will own the platform end-to-end - from architecture and data flows to campaign execution and optimization. You'll translate business needs into clear technical requirements, guide our engineering team on best-practice solutions, and ensure we get the maximum value from our SFMC investment. This position requires strong technical depth, real-world SFMC experience, and the ability to build scalable, personalized customer journeys.

Responsibilities

1. SFMC Engagement Technical Direction & Architecture (Primary Focus)

Technical Lead for SFMC: Act as the primary technical owner for Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement. Convert business requirements into clear technical specs, user stories, and engineering tasks. Platform Configuration & Governance: Manage SFMC setup, data governance, security, monitoring, and overall platform health. Certifications in SFMC Admin/Consultant are strongly preferred. Solution Architecture: Design and document complex multi-channel journeys, data flows, ETL processes, and API integrations between SFMC and other systems. Data Engineering for Marketing: Define data extension structures, write optimized SQL for segmentation, manage data syncs, and ensure all campaigns follow best practices for deliverability, compliance, and customer experience. Quality & Performance: Establish strong QA standards, enforce technical best practices, and ensure all SFMC development is secure, scalable, and high-performing 2. Analytics, Insights & Decision-Making

Collaborate with Data Science to refine performance reporting and dashboards. Interpret performance data and translate complex technical findings into clear, strategic recommendations for continuous improvement. 3. Leadership & Collaboration

Lead by example. This role is both hands-on and leadership-focused - you will do the work while also guiding others. Mentor specialists and developers. Help the marketing automation and technical team build skills and deliver high-quality work. Work across departments. Partner closely with Marketing, Sales, Client Success, IT, Product, CRM, and Data Science to keep everyone aligned and ensure strong data quality and smooth execution. Oversee vendors and platforms. Manage external partners and tools to keep operations scalable and efficient, while improving deliverability, engagement, and conversion. Required Skills & Experience

Tech Leadership & Technical Direction (Priority Focus)

5+ years of hands-on, deep experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement (Core MC), including Journey Builder, Contact Builder, Automation Studio, and SFMC API integration and specifically translating business needs into documented technical requirements for SFMC implementation. Expert proficiency with SQL and managing Data Extensions for both segmentation and data modeling. Deep understanding of the CRM data models, relational data, segmentation logic and technical infrastructure to effectively guide engineering solutions. Familiarity with Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (Pardot) is beneficial, but candidates must demonstrate that SFMC Engagement is their area of mastery. Industry & Execution

Highly skilled in reporting and interpreting digital marketing metrics.

Welldoc operates in ISO 13485 and MDSAP regulated and HITRUST and SOC 2 Type II compliant environments. Therefore, it is expected that all employees will have either prior experience working in those environments or will be trained to understand the requirements needed to work and support those requirements and culture as they relate to individual roles and responsibilities.

Required Education

Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or similar background

Compensation & Benefits

Welldoc offers a competitive compensation package which, in addition to salary, includes generous PTO, medical insurance, dental insurance, vision care, life and disability insurance, retirement benefits. and the opportunity to participate in health savings accounts and/or dependent care accounts. While the anticipated salary range for this position is between $80,000 - $120,000/year with the expectation that most candidates will fall around the midpoint of the range. Exceptional candidates may exceed the range if education and experience warrant.

Upon receipt of a conditional offer of employment, you may be required to complete and clear a multi-panel drug screening process.
