Job Title:SAP SD Functional Consultant
Location:Santa Clara, CA - Hybrid
Job Summary:
The SAP SD Functional Consultant is responsible for implementing, supporting, and enhancing SAP Sales and Distribution (SD) modules to meet business needs. This role involves understanding business processes, gathering requirements, configuring the SAP SD module, conducting testing, training end-users, and ensuring smooth integration with other SAP modules such as MM, FI/CO, and PP. Key Responsibilities
Requirement Gathering & Analysis Work with business stakeholders to understand and document sales and distribution processes (order management, pricing, shipping, billing, etc.). Translate business requirements into functional specifications.
System Configuration Configure SAP SD module components such as: Customer master and material master data Sales order types and document flows Pricing procedures, discounts, and taxes Delivery and shipping processes Billing and invoicing Credit management
Ensure integration with other SAP modules (MM, FI, PP, WM).
Testing & Validation Prepare test scripts and perform unit, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT). Troubleshoot and resolve functional issues and defects.
Support & Maintenance Provide post-implementation support and resolve system issues. Manage change requests and enhancements through the project lifecycle.
Documentation & Training Create detailed functional and technical documentation. Conduct user training sessions and prepare training materials.
Project Management Participate in full lifecycle SAP implementations (blueprint to go-live). Collaborate with cross-functional teams and technical (ABAP) developers.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience:
3-8 years of hands-on experience as an SAP SD Functional Consultant. Experience in at least one full SAP implementation project (end-to-end). Strong knowledge of Order-to-Cash (OTC) cycle. Technical Skills:
SAP SD configuration (sales, shipping, billing, pricing). Integration experience with MM, FI/CO, and other SAP modules. Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA SD (preferable). Familiarity with IDocs, EDI, and user exits
