Grant Writer

Lawrence Hall, Chicago, IL, United States

About Lawrence Hall

Lawrence Hall is a Chicago-based nonprofit social services agency that provides therapeutic, wellness, and skill development services to youth, families, and neighborhoods affected by lasting trauma. We foster healing and growth through empowerment, respect, safety, and teamwork. About the Role

Behind every life-changing program is a story that needs to be told - and funded. As the Grant Writer, you will help bring those stories to life by connecting Lawrence Hall's mission with the foundations, corporations, and partners who make our work possible. In this role, you will research funding opportunities, write compelling grant proposals, and steward relationships with institutional donors who support services for youth and families across Chicago. Your work directly helps sustain programs that promote healing, stability, and long-term success for young people impacted by trauma. Key Responsibilities

Research and identify new grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government sources to diversify funding. Write and submit compelling grant proposals, reports, and donor communications. Manage a portfolio of institutional donors, including proposal deadlines, reporting requirements, and relationship stewardship. Collaborate with program teams to gather information, evaluate outcomes, and develop strong funding proposals. Maintain accurate donor and grant records using Raiser's Edge NXT or a similar fundraising database. Support cultivation and stewardship activities, including meetings, events, and donor communications. Assist with major institutional fundraising efforts such as United Way of Metropolitan Chicago and Episcopal Charities. Track proposal submissions, reporting deadlines, and follow-up activities to ensure compliance with funder requirements. Who we’re looking for
