Description
The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Lead for Intel Sector will take the helm as the chief AI strategist and practitioner, shaping and expediting the execution of Artificial Intelligence initiatives across all Business Areas (BAs). The role is based in Reston, Virginia (or other Northern Virginia locations as necessary).
This leader will spearhead innovative, secure, and deployable AI solutions aimed at modernizing intelligence tradecraft, enhancing mission software delivery, and providing unique cyber and multi-INT capabilities swiftly and at scale.
As the AI Lead, you will collaborate closely with Chief Technology Officers (CTOs), line managers, and growth leaders to integrate AI-driven solutions into program and mission operations, business captures, proposals, and non-traditional acquisitions. Establishing and nurturing relationships with current and potential customers is key, as is showcasing our capabilities to solve problems using advanced AI and automation solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Define and implement the Intel Sector AI Strategy consistent with Sector growth priorities, customer mission needs, and Corporate AI direction.
Promote the advancement of Agentic AI, Generative AI, AI-assisted software development, AI-enabled cyber operations, and multi-INT fusion platforms.
Ensure AI capabilities align with mission objectives across Intelligence Production & Analyst Workflows, TCPED modernization, GEOINT automation, cyber operations, and Information Operations platforms.
Collaborate with Business Area CTOs, Chief Architects, and Growth leaders to integrate AI-infused solutions into captures and proposals.
Demonstrate cutting-edge AI platforms before RFP releases and support OTAs, CSOs, and outcome-based acquisition models.
Establish and uphold an AI Governance Framework that ensures secure and trustworthy AI deployment in classified and mission-critical settings.
Implement Responsible AI practices, establishing model evaluation standards, lifecycle risk management, and Zero Trust alignment.
Foster a community of AI practitioners across the Sector to ensure that every senior technical leader is proficient in AI-enabled mission solutions.
Facilitate the sharing of AI reference architectures, reusable components, and model libraries to maximize intellectual property reuse across projects.
Accelerate the transition of AI prototypes (IRAD/CRAD) into operational programs.
Lead technical demonstrations and prototypes, positioning our organization as a mission-ready AI integrator and tackling disruptors head-on.
Actively contribute to priority captures and recompetes by writing and reviewing AI-enabled solutions, coaching solution architects in AI design and implementation, and engaging directly with IC and DoD customers to shape AI requirements.
Basic Qualifications
Master's degree with 15+ years of experience or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 15+ years of experience in AI/ML, advanced analytics, or mission software engineering.
Proven track record of operationalizing AI in classified or mission-critical environments.
Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP), multi-agent systems, and sentiment analysis.
Expertise in leading R&D efforts related to AI and automation within cyber operations (offensive, defensive, or information operations).
Experience deploying Generative AI / LLMs, Knowledge Graphs, or similar technologies for enhanced analytic activities.
History of leading AI solution efforts in captures and proposals.
Experience managing distributed, highly technical teams.
Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
Desired Qualifications
Strategic thinker with strong communication skills to motivate and inspire teams.
Familiarity with DoD, Federal, and Intelligence Community operations.
At least 5 years supporting U.S. Intelligence Community or DoD customers.
Experience using AI for TCPED workflow modernization.
Strong executive communication skills to engage senior IC leadership.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $154,050.00 - $278,475.00
