Content Marketing Manager (Freelance) for a fast-paced B2B technology company. This is a freelance, onsite/hybrid role with strong potential to convert to full-time employment. The ideal candidate is an individual contributor who owns projects end-to-end, works closely with sales and product teams, and translates technical concepts into clear, compelling content.

Hybrid: 3 days/week onsite (Tue, Wed, Thurs) and 2 days remote; ~8 hours per day; additional hours as needed for onsite events

Role Overview The Content Marketing Manager leads the creation and execution of content that supports North American marketing initiatives, a channel-driven B2B sales model, and growth across key vertical markets. You will shape the company’s voice across digital and traditional channels, drive demand generation, and enable sales and channel partners with effective, differentiated messaging.
This role combines strategy and execution: you will sit with sales to understand requests, frame the story, write and edit content, apply basic design skills to existing templates, and help run campaigns leveraging marketing automation and CRM platforms.
Responsibilities Content Strategy & Planning
Develop and maintain a content plan aligned with business goals, product launches, and vertical market priorities.
Coordinate with marketing, sales, product, and vertical teams to ensure content supports go-to-market initiatives.
Content Creation & Management
Write and produce a wide range of assets: sales collateral, solution briefs, case studies, product sheets, presentations, event materials, and thought leadership pieces.
Create content for both channel partners (integrators, distributors, consultants) and end customers across target industries.
Apply basic graphic design skills to format and adapt content using existing templates (e.g., in InDesign and Photoshop).
Email & Campaign Execution
Plan, write, and build email campaigns and newsletters to channel partners, consultants, and end-user audiences.
Use marketing automation (e.g., Pardot) and CRM (e.g., Salesforce) to segment lists, schedule sends, and support lead nurturing.
Collaborate with digital marketing on integrated campaigns that drive awareness, engagement, and leads.
Product & Technology Storytelling
Translate complex display and visualization technologies into clear, benefit-focused messaging.
Adapt narratives for different verticals and use cases while preserving technical accuracy.
Channel & Partner Enablement
Develop sales enablement tools, co-branded materials, and campaign content that help channel partners sell more effectively.
Support field and channel marketing initiatives tied to events, launches, and key industry shows
Collaboration & Optimization
Work closely with sales, product management, and vertical marketing to understand needs and capture the right details for content.
Participate in broader brand and corporate content efforts to maintain message consistency.
Use analytics and performance data (with digital marketing support) to refine and improve content and campaigns over time.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in B2B marketing, preferably in technology
Proven strength in writing, editing, and storytelling—able to simplify technical concepts for varied audiences.
Experience creating content for both channel-driven sales models and end users.
Background supporting vertical market or industry-focused sales efforts is a plus.
Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with frequent back-and-forth, shifting priorities, and tight deadlines.
Strong project management skills; able to independently manage multiple requests and stakeholders.
Hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves mindset; comfortable as a high-output individual contributor.
Skills
Strong writing and editing across formats (email, collateral, presentations, social, basic video scripts, etc.).
Experience with email marketing, marketing automation (e.g., Pardot), and CRM (e.g., Salesforce).
Basic proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign and Photoshop, for working within templates.
Familiarity with SEO and content best practices for digital channels.
Ability to tailor messaging by audience (channel partners, consultants, and end customers across industries).
Collaborative working style with comfort interfacing directly with sales, product, and leadership.
