A Landscape Construction Estimator is responsible for partnering with General Contractors and DJ’s Operations teams to qualify, estimate, sell and manage landscape and irrigation installations related to construction projects. An understanding of construction documents, alongside field experience, mathematics proficiency and a willingness to learn would make for the ideal candidate.
Competitive pay: $55,000-$65,000 annual salary, based on experience

Requirements
Assists in sourcing and qualifying construction project opportunities for multiple DJ’s Landscape branches
Maintains tracking spreadsheets and record
Evaluates actuals vs. estimated margins to ensure accuracy and to learn how to increase efficiency and profits
Reviews and understands construction packages and project manuals, determining the total scope of work within our bid package and isolating related pages
Utilizes takeoff software to determine accurate measurements on the isolated plans
Thoroughly reads and understands specification packages to ensure use of proper materials and procedures within the bid proposal
Reviews bid forms to understand how the bid proposal must be formatted
Estimates costs of material, equipment, and production based upon takeoff information
Contacts vendors and subcontractors for up-to-date pricing information
Compiles an accurate bid with attention to detail and careful analysis of the project
Ensures verbiage within the bid proposal accurately describes the scope of work and that any necessary disclaimers and/or exceptions are called out clearly
Collaborates with estimating team manager to review and adjust bid documents prior to submission and ensures bid and accompanying documents are submitted on time
Participates in team meetings focused on bid management, sales, contract coordination and project handoff to operations
Assists in completion of submittals, close-outs and contract documents
Highly Recommended Skills but Not Required
Previous experience managing and completing construction bids
Experience with building contractor and vendor professional relationships
CAD experience or similar software
