The
Scribner imprint
is seeking a Marketing Manager to support its distinguished and time-honored publishing program. Founded in 1846, Scribner is a leading home for timeless fiction and nonfiction, publishing a diverse list that includes commercial and literary fiction, poetry, history, science, and narrative nonfiction.
The ideal candidate will have a broad interest in books and culture and the ability to develop thoughtful, multi-tiered marketing campaigns for a wide range of titles. This role requires someone who can work both independently and collaboratively across departments to execute impactful marketing strategies.
The Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing and executing marketing campaigns, analyzing sales and audience data, creating compelling content, managing social media strategies, and presenting insights and campaign plans to internal and external stakeholders.
This position reports to the VP, Deputy Publisher of the imprint .
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute
15–20 frontlist marketing campaigns annually
Analyze
sales data and market trends
to identify opportunities for growth
Allocate and manage
title-level marketing budgets
Create and distribute
sales and marketing collateral
across multiple channels
Collaborate with
sales representatives and retail partners
to secure merchandising opportunities
Conceptualize creative assets for
advertising, sales materials, and promotional campaigns
Develop and implement
paid and organic social media strategies
Advise authors on
social media strategy
and manage author accounts when appropriate
Create and publish
digital content , including writing, editing, filming, and producing social media assets
Maintain consistent communication with
internal teams and external partners
throughout the publishing process
Identify and execute
strategic partnerships , including collaborations with social media creators and influencers
Manage
early reader and discovery platforms
such as Goodreads and NetGalley to maximize title visibility
Lead
sales and marketing meetings
with internal teams and external stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
3–7 years of marketing experience
in book publishing or a related industry
Demonstrated success in
consumer-facing campaigns, digital marketing, social media strategy, and talent management
Advanced experience with advertising platforms and business manager tools across:

Strong familiarity with
publishing industry platforms , including:
Goodreads
NetGalley
BookScan
Experience using
prospecting tools
such as EduDataHub, MDR, and other niche media databases
Excellent

internal leadership and high-profile external stakeholders , including authors, celebrities, public figures, and thought leaders
Highly
organized, detail-oriented, collaborative, and adaptable
Strong understanding of the
evolving media and digital marketing landscape
