Property Underwriting Assistant

The Property Underwriting Assistant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of existing policy information for renewals, communicating effectively with clients for information gathering, and supporting the underwriting process through precise documentation. The role conducts risk assessments and audits for insurance applications, calculates premium and generates reports. They ensure strict adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and compliance standards in all underwriting activities. Key Responsibilities:

Review and maintain existing policy information to ensure accuracy and appropriate pricing for renewals. Respond to client inquiries, providing guidance on insurance products and underwriting criteria. Communicate with clients and agents to gather necessary information and ensure a smooth underwriting process. Prepare and organize documentation for underwriting submissions and policy issuance. Assist in evaluating risks for insurance applications, including both standard and non-standard cases. Support premium calculations by applying underwriting guidelines accurately. Generate and maintain reports on underwriting activities, performance metrics, and key indicators. Assist with internal and external audits by compiling and providing required documentation. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and underwriting standards. Collaborate with underwriters and other departments to coordinate tasks and share information. Serve as a primary point of contact for customers and agents, delivering exceptional service and resolving issues promptly. Qualifications:

Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Actuarial Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered. 6 months to 1+ years of experience in Property and Casualty (P&C) underwriting or a related insurance role. Licenses & Certifications: Must meet minimum requirements for state P&C and/or surplus lines licenses. Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation is a plus. The target hourly rate range for this position is $25.00 - $31.25 per hour. The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands. The pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
