Workers Comp Subject Matter Expert (SME), Commercial Lines Risk Consultant

The Underwriting Solutions unit at Verisk is hiring a Workers Comp Subject Matter Expert (SME), Commercial Lines Risk Consultant to revise and develop resources, including technical reports and training curriculum, to support internal and external customers (Insurers) in Workers Comp and Commercial Auto insurance related topics. Internal customers may include the sales force, product development teams, and risk engineers; external customers may include insurers, underwriters and loss control professionals, and trade associations. The Technical Manager will utilize current best practice, legal precedent, and subject experience to guide customers in controlling risk exposures. Additionally, the Technical Manager will be responsible for providing other services related to customers' exposures within their purview. The Technical Manager will collaborate closely with key stakeholders across the company to maintain consistency and align the content strategy with their vision. You will play a significant role in the development of a successful and effective knowledge base. Responsibilities

Review and revise existing technical reports, checklists, and training programs to maintain currency and accuracy of information. Develop new reports and educational materials to support the committed growth of the knowledge center. Assist in the development and maintenance of high quality, up-to-date, and searchable content for audiences of varying skill levels, and facilitate the dissemination of this knowledge to internal and external stakeholders. Respond to internal inquiries related to specific exposures, in support of the Verisk staff. Respond to external customers consulting requests, in writing, to aid those customers in serving their clients. Maintain personal subject matter knowledge currency, by continued education and professional development. Assist in maintaining currency of Knowledge Center products and research databases. Work effectively across the organization with stakeholders, change management, service teams, trainers, curriculum developers and subject matter experts to develop relevant and accessible information that supports new and existing products, features, and services. Qualifications

10 to 15 years of commercial insurance, risk control engineering experience across multiple lines of insurance. Bachelor's degree in related risk engineering or insurance related field. Exceptional experience may be substituted for formal education. Awareness and general understanding of technology and the convergence of software, and data in support of straight through processing Strong critical thinking, problem solving, mentoring, conceptual and innovative thinking, analytical skills, and the ability to deal with ambiguity. Experience authoring technical reports and answering customer inquiries. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including presentation skills. Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with internal staff and external stakeholders. Comfortable speaking in front of a room full of industry executives but can also dive into the details of a challenging quantitative problem to solve customer needs. 5% - 10% travel About Us
